New Logan Testing Center Opens in October!

The new 200 seat testing center is available for students to test for both on-campus and online classes. View the contruction camera.

The testing center is attached to the Merrill-Cazier Library, and will feature a separate entrance and hours. Priority will be given to on-campus courses with more than 50 students enrolled, all online courses, and for make-up exams for any course. Online exams will be given using laptops to allow greater flexibility in the space.

Visit www.testing.usu.edu/faculty for instructions on how to give exams in the testing center.

Supported assessments formats include:

  • Online: Password protected online exams in Canvas or alternative online exam system.
  • Paper: Printed hard copies with written answers. (No Scantron exams can be given in the Testing Center.)

Instructional Designers in the Center for Innovative Design and Instruction will provide guidance to instructors seeking assessment assistance. They can help determine the best assessment strategy to meet the instructors course objectives as well as maintaining appropriate levels of assessment security.

To scheudle a time to take an exam visit http://testing.usu.edu and select “Schedule and Exam”. Automated confirmation emails will be sent to you at the time of your reservation. You must provide USU ID for authentication. You will authenticate to Canvas with your campus ID/password and navigate to your exam. USU Testing Center proctors will enter the assessment password for you and monitor the assessment. 

If the instructor has chosen to use a virtual proctor, you will authenticate to Canvas with campus ID/password and navigate to your exam. Before beginning the assessment you will provide additional ID verification through building a profile of photo ID, biometric information, and security questions. Once verified, you will be recorded as you complete the assessment. 

Virtual Proctoring Options

Virtual proctoring with Proctorio is be available for instructors who want to maintain assessment security, but allow students the greatest flexibility. Virtual proctoring tools provide facial recognition software, biometric authentication, and virtual exam monitoring and reporting of suspicious behavior directly to instructors.
